On September 15th, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond (DSAGR) held their annual “Step Up for Down Syndrome Night” at Meadowbrook Country Club. One of the items for bid was a “Fulfill Your BUCKET List” where the winning individual could spend time with us learning how to become a heavy equipment operator. This past Tuesday, Lisa and Mark accompanied by their three children were our guests at the James River Equipment – Ashland location for a lesson in digging, scooping, and dumping. Lisa and Mark, coached by JRE Employee Timmy Tinker, dug a hole using a 60D John Deere Mini Excavator and a 255D Excavator. They then filled it back up with a 344K Wheel Loader. Once done playing in the dirt pile, all the family members took turns zooming around our yard in a 300D Articulating Dump Truck. It was a fun and memorable afternoon for both the JRE employees and the family! If you would like to learn more about the DSAGR, click here!
