James River Equipment is currently seeking a Grade Control Specialist to work out of our Ashland, Virginia location. Grade Control/GPS Sales Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

Consult with customers on GPS technology, machine grade control, and other technical solutions, including those offered by our vendor partners, Leica, Topcon, Trimble, and Kespry

Help manage JRE’s fleet of “Smart” machines including but not limited to:

  • Calibration of new machines
  • Demonstration and set-up on job sites
  • Troubleshooting problems and performing minor technical repairs
  • Work as part of team of technical specialists
  • Assist with training of both customers and mainline sales professionals
  • Create customer quotes and factory orders for grade control systems
  • Have a clear understanding of the activities and applications that take place on construction jobsites

Job Requirements:

Surveying or grade checking experience strongly preferred

Understand traditional survey methods versus GPS methods

University degree or equivalent experience

Vocation or technical degree and/or equivalent work experience or training in grade control

Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communications

Ability to work and flourish within a team framework

Ability to pass a background check, drug screen & clean driving record
